Most prospective undergraduates can get an estimate of their financial aid with one of two useful tools.
MyinTuition Quick College Cost Estimator
The Quick College Cost Estimator provides a quick estimate based on six simple questions. It is roughly accurate for families with broadly typical finances.
Net Price Calculator
The Net Price Calculator tends to give a more precise, accurate, and detailed estimate as to what your financial aid may look like, including assessing likely eligibility for the Federal Pell Grant. It will take roughly 20 minutes to complete. You will need to answer some basic questions about your parents’ financial situation, so it might be helpful to have recent tax forms or pay stubs on hand before you begin.
Please note
Both tools are designed for first-time, full-time students with broadly typical finances. They will not be accurate for international students, federally independent students, or students with complex financial situations not accounted for in their respective methodologies. We provide these calculators because many families find them useful.01 Also, we are required to do so by federal law.
The only way to truly know how much financial aid you will receive is to apply to MIT, be admitted, and apply for financial aid. We are committed to meeting 100% of your financial need, and can always review special circumstances on a case-by-case basis once you have been admitted.
